Kucinich: the Federal Reserve is paying banks NOT to make loans to struggling Americans.

Anna,
Why Not? We've been paying farmers for years not to grow food so prices can stay high. It's only fair the poor banks get some of the same treatment by keeping all that interest on our money!
You wouldn't want them to fail now, would you? Because, where would we be without these big banks taking care of us?
And DW, maybe it's time to let them fail. We're already on the Highway to Hell. The quicker we get there, the sooner we decrease the surplus population, the sooner the aristocracy can get back to things they way they were.

FT, speaking of the way things were, see this post by Joe Bageant:

Good evening, Father Tyme.

"Maybe it's time..."?

No, it's long past time. I'm not a socialist: throwing money at welfare queens of the banking sector grates the nerves in my backside raw.

So does Obama throwing a billion dollars (a billion dollars! for God's sake) to 'put more cops on the streets' of America. More out-of-control, over-the-top, Taser-'n-Shoot crackpots, more state-sponsored violence. More welfare queens.

So does Congress throwing what will amount to a trillion dollars into "healthcare reform" that leaves the healthcare oligopoly right where it is without even a hint of talk about serious, comprehensive, fist-hard rewriting of antitrust laws to bust the trusts in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, not to mention telecommunications, cyberspace, and a few other sacred cow districts. More welfare queens: coddled, protected, and handed the American enterprise economy compliments of laws that protect the powerful, money that feeds the venality, and a legislature and judiciary that cowers to the moneyed interests.

Don't talk to me about "maybe it's time." No, it's long past time, and Barack Hussein Obama needs to get off his scrawny high-rhetoric ass and high horse and do something like lead the charge to let those banks fail, and to force the medical-pharmaceutical complex to face hard-core market reforms, and to send the heads at the Federal Reserve rolling, and to crack the whip on Congress to stop passing volumes of law to repress people while it does nothing to put the hammer down on the monster-sized businesses that make the term "free market" a joke.

Then again, Obama isn't going to do any of that, now is he? It's status quo ante time in Washington, with Goldman Sachs and its dirty 'quant flushers' now infecting the Executive Branch, and the medical-pharmaceutical complex whispering in his ear about how to turn the government into a money hog trough spigot, and the cyberspace monopolies like Google hob-nobbing with their hip-'n-with-it guy in the Oval Office.

Grr.

It's a good thing you didn't get me really started, there, my good man.

The Dark Wraith would hate to have to say what's really on his mind.

Oh yeah!

Sheesh DW!
You'd think that it was all just YOUR money they're using! What about them patriotic rednecks who spend their waking hours tea-baggin' for them poor CEOs? THEY don't have any problem giving THEIR hard(ly) earned money to those poor souls on Wall Street!
No sacrifice is too great for our Fox friends to try to stop Barry from taxing the rich to death, even if it means living in squalor, raising another generation of mind numbingly stupid children, going hungry and cold and living without being able to watch Amurikan Idle or Fox News! Damn it Man! It's their right!

And all those hard working Congressional types in D.C. are just trying to live the Amurikan Dream while trying to take care of a country full of ingrates who just don’t understand economics like they do! Look at all they’ve done for this country these last few years. Do you think anyone else would be as concerned as they are? I really think you should cut them a break!

(And while you're at it, please try to think kindly of poor, persecuted, picked on Sarah. You’ve been a little tough on her. She's just another great Amurikan aspiring to be one of the poor over-privileged, over-taxed, wealthy dreamers who made this country what it is today so she can show us true suffering. How noble! Gawd bless her lil heart!)

Fodder Thyme, an alternative view of Sister Sarah can be found at THIS SITE wherein the blogger posts in part:

Farewell Message to Palin: Shut Yer Ugly Yap and Die
Bitch, how about you exit stage right tout de suite - and then just shut the fuck up, you yapping, preening, ridiculous and profoundly stupid twat! You have amused us long enough, and frankly your comic value wore off long ago.
Clearly you'll enjoy spending more time with all your moronic, grotesque, cro-mag splatter boys, who apparently can only stem their rage at their own stupidity and tiny genitalia by destroying whatever hapless wildlife they can find. Scraping and pathetic trained fem-bot losers like yourself are the only ones who can understand their pre-verbal grunts and gestures anyway, so you'll be needed among your own kind, at least.

(I really must speak to said blogger about her reluctance to clearly define her feelings.)

Kind of a shame she didn't wait until August 8th! Would have had much more meaning.
What IS the appropriate gift for a 35th anniversary, papers or audio tape?

Me? "...a little tough on Sarah"?

I haven't even gotten started on that hillbilly-in-pumps. My folks came from the hills.

(Rumor has it that they moved when the trailer parks started blocking the view of the tobacco fields... but that's just a rumor, you see. Another rumor has it that they moved when West Virginia started sending the ugly ones to our neck of the woods, where the varmints are tender enough to eat without many teeth.)

Where was I?

Oh, yes: Sarah. She's almost as much fun as the Wall Street Boyz to hammer. I think Obama should dump Biden in 2012 and bring Sarah on board.

Yes, indeed.

The Dark Wraith needs to talk to some PR people about this idea.

Anna,
I believe that's a violation of the Prime Directive. I'm afraid I have no choice but to report this to the United Federation of Planets.
